This is my review of the Heathrow Express train in business class I took from Paddington to Heathrow to start my journey to India.

Booking:

I booked the ticket on the Heathrow Express website, and by taking advantage of the TopCashBack offer, I saved 10.20%—a small saving nonetheless. You can read more about TopCashBack here.

Station:

Follow the signs to the train on the floor.
Platform
The trains depart from platform 6 & 7.

Depending on where you are arriving at Paddington station, you might have to walk a bit, and it’s not the best signposted either; however, if you follow the signs on the floor, that should guide you straight to the station.

Seating:

There are 22 seats in business class, 8 in the front of the carriage and 14 in the middle. There are 3 separate tables, which is good if you travel together as a family. However, every seat does come with a table on the seat in front of you. A seat with a pull-down table should suffice if you are a smaller person.

WiFi:

I liked the WiFi. It was good, and connecting to the WiFI is very easy. All you have to do is log in to your BAEC account.

Arriving at Heathrow:

Arriving at Heathrow is pretty straightforward. All you have to do is follow the signs to the terminal you need, which in my case was terminal 3; it was about a 5-minute walk.

Conclusion:

While I’ve always needed clarification on the need for a Heathrow express train, I always thought, who really uses it? I get it now. It’s good if you live in Central London and want a hassle-free, quick, easy journey to Heathrow. On the other hand, given my geographical location, it’s not worth it, but I am glad I’ve tried it.

The only real downside is that there need to be toilets onboard. Despite it only being such a short journey, I still couldn’t help but feel that a toilet would’ve been a good idea to have on your way.

  1. If you were headed onward to tERMINAL 5 YOU WOULD HAVE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE A MASS OF HUMANITY BOARDING THE BUSINESS CLASS CAR FOR ITS FREE TRANSFER TO TERMINAL 5.

  2. I have been through this article a few tines and cannot find the cost of this trip.
Without the cost it becomes nothing more than mindless drivel.

  3. Per their website, the cost is GBP 32. That is for 15 – 20 minutes of travel time. It is the single most overpiced and unneccessary first class ticket you will ever buy.

    1. YEs while that’s true i can kind of see why some people would buy it good for business travel to and from the city quickly.
