This flight deal is brought to you by Luxury Flight Club.

Deal: Rwandair offers business class tickets from London to Johannesburg, South Africa, for just over £1,500.00. Although you will have to stop in Kigali, why is this a good deal, you ask? Well, there are two reasons.

  1. You don’t usually see prices from London to Johannesburg at these levels (although who remembers when Virgin Atlantic offered flights to South Africa for £999 during Black Friday?).
  2. You can actually earn Avios points on this flight.

But wait, since when is Rwandair a part of the Oneworld Alliance? Well, they’re not, at least not yet. See below; they have just established a partnership with Qatar Airways. Obviously, since Qatar Airways is part of the Oneworld alliance, that means that you will earn Avios on this flight.

Avios: In order to get those Avios, you must have an account with the Qatar Airways Privilege Club. If you’ve connected your British Airways and Qatar accounts, you can transfer Avios. When flying on tickets booked in A or P class, you’ll earn 125% of the miles travelled.

Amazing flight deal out of London.

Although the fare is marketed as a ‘Business Saver,’ it includes all the usual perks, such as complimentary seat selection. However, this fare is non-refundable.

Dates: The offer is valid for the complete schedule through January 2026, though availability is limited in July and between Christmas and New Year’s.

Aircraft: The main concern revolves around the aircraft. Whilst this deal is from London to Johannesburg in business class Rwandair operates three long-haul A330 aircraft, one lacking fully flat seats. While it would be unexpected to see this particular aircraft assigned to London Heathrow, there is definitely a risk involved.

Layover: The flight from Kigali to Johannesburg is serviced by a Boeing 737, featuring a 2×2 configuration in business class. This layout is a genuine 2×2 arrangement, unlike the blocked middle seat approach often used by British Airways.

Fun Fact: Rwandair has expressed interest in joining the Oneworld alliance in the future. With 49% ownership by Qatar Airways, it is considered a significant player in the airline industry.
