Gulf Air is expanding its London footprint, but this time, it’s not the usual Heathrow affair. Nope, they’re heading to the land of easyJet and questionable pint prices, London Gatwick. Here’s what you need to know.

From 30th March 2025, Gulf Air will launch a daily service from Bahrain to London Gatwick using their Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. The schedule is as follows:
GF9 will depart Bahrain at the rather unsociable hour of 1:45 am on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, touching down at Gatwick at 6:55 am. This is perfect timing for the red-eye zombies who want to get straight into a Pret croissant and an overpriced train ride into London.
The return leg, GF10, leaves Gatwick at 11:25 am and lands back in Bahrain at 8:00 pm on the same day. So, plenty of time to grab a full English at the terminal before heading home.

Now, let’s talk Bahrain. I’ve actually been and flown there in British Airways First Class (humble brag fully intended). You can find my review here if you fancy reading about that experience. But back to Bahrain itself it’s a gem. Think of it as Dubai’s cooler, less flashy younger sibling. It’s got the beaches, the weather, the nightlife, and the food, but without the overwhelming sensory assault of bling and neon. Honestly, I don’t think people realise what a perfect getaway it is.
Back to Gulf Air. If Heathrow loyalists are worried about missing out, don’t be. Gulf Air already operates twice-daily flights into LHR with its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner under flight numbers GF2 and GF6. Plus, British Airways also runs a daily service to Bahrain using a Boeing 777-200ER for those who like their Club World seats to come with a side of vintage cabin design.
So, whether you prefer the chaos of Heathrow or the slightly more budget holiday vibes of Gatwick, Gulf Air has you covered.
