Add in mainstays like Pullman, Novotel, and Ibis, and you’ve got an empire tailored to Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and basically anywhere that’s not North America.

But there’s a catch: not every brand participates, so check before you expect points or perks at more niche properties.

Where Can You Stay?

Accor is strongest in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, with notable coverage in Australia and Africa. You’ll find everything from budget Ibis crash pads to The Savoy in London (a Fairmont) in the UK.

Need an airport stopover? Accor’s got Heathrow and Gatwick well covered, with Sofitel properties that beat most chain airport hotels. For a proper treat, there’s Fairmont Windsor Park and Sofitel St James in Central London.

ALL Elite Status: What Do You Get?

Accor’s status system is based entirely on money spent, not nights stayed, making it less gamified but arguably more fair.

There is no complimentary breakfast in Europe unless you’re Diamond, and even then, it’s only on weekends. Fairmont lounges aren’t included for Platinum, which stings.

But Accor offers one rare benefit: soft landings. If you don’t requalify, you’ll drop only one tier, not all the way down.

Earning Points: Revenue-Based and Reliable

Accor keeps it simple: earn points based on euros spent.

Unlike some schemes, you can earn points on two rooms per stay, a clever trick if you book for family or colleagues.

Airline Double Dips & Partners

Accor lets you double dip with either:

• Qatar Airways Privilege Club (Avios)
• Air France/KLM Flying Blue

You’ll earn both Accor points and airline miles on the same stay. But you have to choose one, and there is no flipping mid-year.

• Europcar
• Bicester Village (yep, shopping earns you hotel points)

⚠ Top tip: If you collect Avios, link your Qatar Privilege Club account and transfer to British Airways. That way, you’ll get both Accor points and Avios for each stay.

Redeeming Points: Simple Cash Value

No charts. No peak pricing. Just a fixed cash value:

• No minimum redemption threshold
• Works like a cash discount

There’s no “save-up-for-a-suite” magic here, just straight, reliable savings. There are no blackout dates and no games.

• British Airways? Terrible 2:1 ratio. Don’t do it.

Accor is also the only major hotel chain that lets you transfer airline miles INTO hotel points… but the exchange rates are even worse.

Promotions & Offers: Infrequent but Decent

Unlike Hilton’s constant promos, Accor runs fewer promotions, but they’re solid when they appear.

• Look for double or triple points offers (usually for 2+ night stays)
• They often require advance booking and registration

Do Points Expire?

Yes, after 12 months of inactivity. But it’s easy to reset the clock:
