For those unfamiliar with this route, Singapore Airlines launched a daily fifth freedom flight between Manchester Airport in the UK and Houston, Texas, in the USA, which started on October 30th 2016. and London Gatwick Airport becomes a daily route.

This route is operated by an A350-900, with outbound time blocked at 9 hours 50 minutes. It serves as SQ51 outbound, leaving Manchester at 10:40am and arriving at 2:30pm.
SQ52 operates the return trip, which takes 9 hours and 5 minutes. It leaves Houston at 6:35pm and arrives in Machester the following day at 10:40 am, covering 4,714 miles.
However, Singapore to Manchester will stay unchanged for now, offering five weekly flights between the two countries.

Speaking of Singapore Airlines, the airline has also added extra flights from Singapore to London Gatwick, making it a daily route.
This route is also served by Singapore Airlines A350-900. This 6758-mile flight leaves London Gatwick at 10:15am and operates as SQ309, arriving in Singapore at 6:20am. The return flight operates as SQ312, departing Singapore at 11:55pm and arriving at London Gatwick at 6:20am.
Conclusion:
Whilst it is great to see Singapore adding more seats between London and Singapore and still maintaining the Manchester to Singapore route, I can’t help but wonder if the airline was running on a lost on the USA route. If so, why are they waiting until 2025 to stop the route and not stop it for the winter season?
