Heathrow’s about to throw you a beefy lifeline if you’ve ever battled a 6am flight with a sad croissant and tepid coffee to keep you alive. That’s right: Five Guys is landing at Heathrow Terminal 5, and it’s the first time the burger chain has touched down at any airport in Europe. Cue the peanut oil confetti.
The new 230-square-metre burger bunker will open later this year and take pride of place on the upper level of T5. Expect all the classic burgers stacked like a Boeing galley cart, Cajun fries, milkshakes thick enough to double as landing gear, and yes, both eat-in and takeaway options from the first flight to the last flight.
But this isn’t just any old Five Guys. Heathrow’s version is getting a bit of a glow-up:
- Welcome Host to help you order while wrangling a boarding pass and dodging duty-free perfume spritzers
- Breakfast menu for those stumbling in off red-eyes or long-hauls
- Self-order kiosks in six languages because nothing says “international hub“ like ordering chips in Mandarin

A Bit of Burger History
For AV geeks and beef buffs alike, Five Guys first took off in Virginia back in 1986 and made its UK debut in Covent Garden in 2013. Since then, they’ve opened 170+ UK locations, plus some prime real estate at major US airports. In a show of true global ambition, they opened a Dubai International Airport (DXB) outpost last year, so Heathrow is their next logical touchdown.
What They Said at the Press Gate
“Now Five Guys is cementing itself at the UK’s busiest travel hub Heathrow,“ said John Eckbert, CEO of Five Guys UK. “We are excited to provide our delicious menu to travellers as part of their journeys.”
Translation? Terminal 5 is about to smell dangerously good.
And While We’re Talking Heathrow…
The airport is eyeing a record-breaking 84.2 million passengers in 2025, and with the government now on board with the long-debated third runway, Terminal 5 is ramping up like it’s training for the Paris Olympics.
So, Five Guys arrival isn’t just about burgers. Heathrow shows it knows what the people want: premium patties with a side of jet fuel dreams.
