First off, perhaps for those of you who don’t know what SkyCargo is, SkyCargo is the name of Emirates Cargo which operates out of Dubai,

Emirates expanding on their fleet is always a good thing and a sign of just how much the demand for cargo has gone up, especially since Covid.

Let’s take a bit of a closer look into Emirates current cargo fleet,

Emirates was the launch customer to showcase the Boeing 777F and it looks like they are happy with the twin-engine jet.

Currently, Emirates operates a fleet of 11 Boeing 777Fs adding those 5 in, of which 2 of them will be delivered in 2024 and the remaining 3 in 2025, furthermore Emirates plans to convert an additional 10 Boeing 777’s passenger jets to freighters.

Other Interesting Facts About SkyCargo.

Interestingly enough, for those who perhaps don’t know this but Emirates SkyCargo operates out of DWC and not out of DXB,

Although DXB does handle some of the cargo, however, they only handle cargo that is flown on passenger planes.

Another interesting point which as an avgeek I find fascinating is that  Emirates SkyCargo used to fly the Boeing 747ER, the Boeing 747, and the A310, so they did have quite the mix.

Conclusion.

Emirates adding some more aircraft to their cargo fleet is an excellent sign and especially taking into account that Emirates was the launch customer of those jets, it’s so amazing to see that such a global company believes in this huge twin-engine jet, and plays a vital part in the global cargo demand.
