Effective May 19th, Emirates is providing complimentary WiFi to all passengers across its entire fleet. This service enhancement comes after a significant investment of over $300 million.

Who will be able to use this?

As a Skywards member, you can access the full free WiFi service. Free WiFi is only available to Skywards members who are flying first class. Business class passengers who are Silver, Gold or Platinum members will also have access to free WiFi. Platinum members will have access to the whole package regardless of the class they are travelling in.

How free are we talking?

Emirates offers free WiFi, including essential messaging apps like WhatsApp, shopping, and other apps such as iMessage, Facebook Messenger, WeChat, Line, or Viber. You will have several options to stay connected. If you are not a Skywards member, you can pay $2.99-$5.99 for the service. If you are in economy and don’t have platinum status, you can still access the free WiFi package by paying $9.99-$19.99.

Emirates future aircraft.

Emirates has ordered 50 Airbus A350-900XWB planes and will receive the first soon. The deliveries are expected to begin in 2024. These planes will be equipped with Inmarsat’s GX Aviation high-speed WiFi.
