American Airlines will resume flying to Edinburgh Scotland from Philadelphia. Let’s go over these details.

American Airlines used to fly to Scotland up until 2019, so this isn’t the first time they will be flying there,

This route will be operated by a Boeing 787-8. It will serve as AA278 outbound, leaving Philadelphia at 7:05 p.m. and arriving at 7:00 a.m.
The return flight will operate as AA279. It will leave Edinburgh at 11:35 a.m. and arrive in Philadelphia at 2:00 p.m. the same day, covering 3,348 miles.

Below is a list of other international routes that American Airlines will expand their flying to in the summer of 2025.

  • March 30, 2025, daily from Chicago (ORD) to Madrid (MAD)
  • May 23, 2025, daily from Philadelphia (PHL) to Milan (MXP)
  • June 5, 2025, daily from Charlotte (CLT) to Athens (ATH)
  • July 5, 2025, daily from Miami (MIA) to Rome (FCO)
