Traveling around but want to stay connected? Try Saily!

In the past, I have discussed why I love booking flights on Google Flights, my process when buying tickets, and what not to do when buying a ticket. But now, with this new feature, things just got even cooler. Let’s go over this in more detail.

Google Flights adds open jaw.

So, here’s the latest: Google Flights added an option to see which other cities or closer airports will be cheaper if you fly to and from; for example, let’s look at the route from London to New York. Until now, when you searched for flights on Google Flights, it would just show you a return from London Heathrow to JFK or Newark Airport. Now, you can fly into one airport and out from the other, which is called an open-jaw ticket.

Google Flights has added a “cheaper” option.

What does that mean for me?

Exploring all your options is essential when purchasing a ticket, as some airports offer cheaper flights for departures or arrivals. You may discover significant savings by being flexible with your travel plans and considering alternative airports in your vicinity. This approach helps you reduce your overall travel costs and leads to more convenient flight times or routes. Therefore, taking the time to research and compare these options can be beneficial in maximizing your travel budget.

Checked bags.

One of the most exciting enhancements to the flight booking experience is the newly added feature allowing travellers to seamlessly include checked and/or carry-on bags directly within the Google Flights platform. This is a game changer for anyone who’s ever had to navigate various airlines, often confusing baggage policies.

You can now book open jaw tickets.

Imagine the thrill of easily customizing your flight by adding that extra luggage right when booking your tickets! No more scrolling through endless tabs to determine what each airline charges for bags—now, with just a few clicks, you can sort everything out in one place.

Conclusion.

This streamlined process saves time and alleviates the stress often associated with air travel, making the entire journey—from booking to boarding—much more enjoyable. Google Flights has just taken a giant leap forward in making travel planning as exciting and hassle-free as possible. With these new options, I believe Google Flights truly stands out, offering greater flexibility and making it even more user-friendly.
