Here’s a twist I didn’t see coming, but one I definitely welcome. You can now earn and redeem Avios with LeShuttle, the cross-Channel car train that runs from Folkestone to Calais.
As someone who used to travel on Le Shuttle two or three times a week (yes, really), I can tell you that this partnership is a game-changer. Back in my regular Channel-hopping days, I would’ve loved to rack up points while waiting in the pet check-in lane.

BA Club x LeShuttle: The Details
Thanks to IAG Loyalty, British Airways Club members can now:
- Earn Avios:
- 3 Avios per £1 on Day Trip, Overnight, Short Stay Saver, Standard, and Standard Plus tickets
- 6 Avios per £1 on Flexiplus fares (that’s the swanky one with fast-track and lounge access)
- Redeem Avios:
- 1,000 Avios = £5 LeShuttle voucher
- Max redemption: £500 per booking
Introducing: Club LeShuttle
This new partnership also coincides with the launch of Club LeShuttle, a loyalty programme for frequent Channel tunnelers (yes, that’s a word now). It promises:
- Surprise treats
- Tailored rewards for families, pet owners, and leisure travellers
- Early access to promos
- Perks based on your travel habits
The full rollout will take place over the next year, but the Avios action starts now.
Avios Is On a Roll
LeShuttle is the latest in a long line of Avios partners IAG Loyalty’s been adding, like Pokémon:
- Royal Caribbean – Earn 3 Avios per £1/€1 on balcony & suite bookings – I wrote about it here so click to read it…
- Qatar Airways x Marriott Bonvoy – Convert Avios into Bonvoy points
- Loganair – Switched its own loyalty programme to Avios in 2024
Basically, if it moves, you can probably earn Avios on it now.
LeShuttle Says…
Being able to use Avios to save directly on your booking – especially when you’re travelling with family or friends in one car – makes this a genuinely valuable addition,
says Deborah Merrens, CCO of LeShuttle.
No argument here.
Final Boarding Call
Avios has officially gone multi-modal. You no longer need wings to earn just a set of wheels and a train that disappears under the sea. And with 6 Avios per £1 on Flexiplus? That’s as juicy as a lounge croissant.
Now, if only they’d retroactively credit me for all those miles I clocked up in the queue for pet passports…
