Why are tickets getting cheaper now?
Ever since the Elizabeth Line opened, there has been some competition with the Heathrow Express. Both lines go to Heathrow Airport from Paddington, but the Elizabeth Line makes a couple of stops. It will be interesting to see how this competition continues to unfold and how it will ultimately impact travel choices for passengers heading to Heathrow Airport.
Heathrow Express vs Elizabeth Line.
The price difference between those two trains is as follows: the Elizabeth line charges £12.20, and now you can get tickets with Heathrow Express for as little as £10.00, but some conditions apply, which I’ll list below:
- Tickets are only valid in the direction in which they were purchased.
- Tickets are available for purchase 60 days or more in advance.
- Advance Tickets are valid only on the specific day of travel and are non-refundable.
- These tickets can only be purchased online or through the mobile app, not from ticket machines, and are only available as e-tickets or mobile tickets.
- You can use them to travel at any time of the day.
- Children 15 or under travel free with an accompanying adult 18 or over who has a valid ticket.

used to be £5.5 before but now they seem to be trying out £10. the issue is that elizabeth line is intergrated to tfl tube lines under the same fare rules, so unless you are going to paddington, elizabeth line is almost always better…but i see some people find heathrow express deal nice if they paddington works well for them and have a lot of luggages etc
