Traveling around but want to stay connected? Try Saily!
This week, I found myself in Austria. While I only drove there from the UK, I did fly back from Innsbruck to London with a stop in Vienna, which gave me the perfect opportunity to review this amazing Tyrol lounge at Innsbruck airport.
In This Post
Tyrol lounge location:
The Tyrol Lounge is located on the first floor. You’ll want to turn right, right after security and walk up the flight of stairs where you’ll be facing the end of the hall with the grey-looking entrance. The entrance to the lounge didn’t look particularly nice in any way, which was surprising because the inside was beautiful.
Tyrol lounge entry & opening times:
The lounge is open daily from 5:00am-7:00pm.
Holders of the following lounge passes have access to the lounge.
- Priority Pass
- Lounge Club
- Lounge KEY (Mastercard and Visa)
- Diners Club International
- Lounge Pass
If you are flying in business class with Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, or British Airways or have status with any of the above airlines, you can also use the lounge. However, I booked a lounge with the Travelzoo offer, which I wrote about last week, and it was definitely well worth the money. You could also buy a one-time admission for 20.00 euros at the door.
Tyrol Lounge food & drink:
Now, then, the food was off the charts, and no, there wasn’t much choice of what to eat, but it was quality over quality for sure; there was a small selection, which included a delicious beef soup, along with a chilli curry and some rice, bread, a small selection of ready to eat small portions of salad in the fridge,.
There wasn’t much alcohol, but for the size of this lounge, it sure was more than one could ask for.
Tyrol lounge seating:
I truly loved the layout of this lounge because, despite it being small, it has a small quiet zone, restaurant-style seating, and my personal favourite, chairs that face the apps.
Tyrol lounge views:
Usually, this isn’t something you would typically read in an airport lounge review. However, being that I was in the Austrian Alps, you can just imagine how beautiful this was. The only downside is that there is no terrace to go out and enjoy it even more, but wow, just wow.
Conclusion:
This lounge ticked every box, from food to drink to cleanliness, to view it all. It’s a small, cosy lounge I’m looking forward to visiting again.
There was one massive downside to these amazing views: right in the centre of the lounge, there was a giant glass box. I don’t know what that was for, but someone who works there told me it was for cleaning the building. So there you go. Although it could serve another purpose, please drop me a comment, as I am eager to know.
If you want to know how you can get lounge access with credit cards next time you travel, make sure to read my review of these cards to see which is best for you.
