Traveling around but want to stay connected? Try Saily!
New Delhi was my last and final destination after travelling around India for two weeks (before returning to the UK). I reviewed lounges in Mumbai, Goa, Jaipur, Amritsar, and hotels up and down the country, including the St. Regis in Mumbai and the W hotel in Goa. I had never stayed in a Shangri-La hotel before, so I looked forward to this experience and to do a hotel review here. And I’m happy I did.

Shangri-la hotel:
This hotel has 320 rooms, 3 restaurants, 2 bars, a spa, and a salon. It is the perfect place to stay if you want a luxury stay in New Delhi.
Shangri-la booking:
My decision to book this hotel through an agent proved wise. It secured me a room upgrade, a $50.00 hotel credit, and a welcome gift on arrival and facilitated early check-in and late check-out. These benefits were particularly valuable when my flight into New Delhi was cancelled, and I arrived at the hotel at 2 am.
Shangri-la room:
After a quick check-in, we headed upstairs to the room. The room we got was the deluxe king room overlooking the city. But since I arrived at 2 am, I didn’t have much time to stay there too long as I had a car waiting for us to take us to Agra to go and see the Taj Mahal, and for those of you know, this a 3-hour drive from Delhi, and this was in the middle of the night due to my late arrival and with a long day ahead of us with no food or sleep but, what the night manager did after that surprised me in a good way, he went and prepared us coffee and breakfast sandwiches on the house so we don’t travel hungry. I thought, wow, that’s what you call going out of your way without asking.
Shangri-la bathroom:
The bathroom was what you would expect in a luxury hotel, especially the marble from floor to ceiling. I love marble; it gives off a luxurious vibe.
Conclusion:
If you ever wanted to stay central in New Delhi in a super luxurious hotel, I highly recommend this hotel; it went above and beyond my expectations.
